Worker Injured After Falling Two Stories Onto Scaffold In Midtown

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A worker is in the hospital after falling onto a scaffold in Midtown Tuesday morning.

The worker fell from the 18th floor of a building to a scaffold on the 16th floor at 38th Street and Broadway, the Fire Department said.

The building is undergoing renovation and is shrouded in netting with plank landings every few floors. The worker is a regular on the site, 1010 WINS' Juliet Papa reported.

"I just saw him every day in the morning," said Jose, who works in the barbershop on the street level floor of 110 West 38th St.

Witnesses said he was cut on his head and hurt his legs, Papa reported.

The worker was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in serious condition.
