2 Injured, Including 5-Year-Old Boy, When Car Rear-Ends Bus In Rockaways

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two people, including a 5-year-old boy, were injured when a car rear-ended a city bus in Far Rockaway, Queens.

The accident happened around 2 p.m. at Beach Channel Drive and Beach 67th Street, police said.

The driver of a car slammed into the back of a Q35 bus that was stopped at a bus stop, police said.

The impact was so strong that the boy – and the car seat he was strapped into – were ejected from the car, police told 1010 WINS.

The boy was taken to Northwell Health Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park with head and neck injuries, police said.

Another person in the car was taken in serious condition to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, police said.

The investigation was ongoing late Thursday.
