Fire Breaks Out In Junkyard Across From Citi Field
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A fire broke out late Friday afternoon in the junkyards across from Citi Field.
The fire sent a plume of black smoke into the air on 28th Street just east of the ballpark, Joe Biermann reported from Chopper 2 during the 5 p.m. hour.
The blaze was believed to be a rubbish fire, but it was not clear what was burning.
The Mets began their Friday night game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citi Field at 7:10 p.m.
