Suspect Wanted In Alleged Kidnapping Attempt Of Girl, 11, At Flushing Meadows Park

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a man who they said tried to kidnap an 11-year-old girl inside Flushing Meadows Park in Queens.

It happened around 3:45 p.m. Saturday as the girl was watching practice sessions on one of the courts with other family members.

Police said a man walked up to her from behind, grabbed her wrist, demanded that she go with him and threatened to harm her.

The girl pulled her arm free and kicked the man, police said. He then fled in an unknown direction.

The man was seen on surveillance video. Police describe him as being between the ages of 25 and 35, about 200 pounds between 5'8" and 5'11" tall. He was wearing a red shirt with stripes, khaki shorts, sunglasses and has a tattoo with words on his right wrist.
