2 Killed In Separate Brooklyn Shootings, Police Say

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two people were fatally shot in separate incidents in Brooklyn early Sunday morning, police say.

According to police, a 26-year-old man was shot multiple times in the torso at East 95th Street and Conklin Avenue at around 2 a.m. The victim was transported to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Around two hours later, another 26-year-old man was shot multiple times in the torso at 1333 Prospect Place in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, police said. The victim was taken to Interfaith Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

"I just heard two shots -- 'bam, bam --' that's it," one resident told 1010 WINS' Samantha Liebman. "I thought it was firecrackers."

The Brooklyn neighbor -- who asked to remain anonymous -- said the building where the incident took place has caused nothing but trouble.

"The busted the house two or three times already for drugs," he said. "It's a drug house, the city knows it."

The names of the victims have not been released, pending family notification.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
