8/29 CBS2 Monday Morning Weather Headlines
By Mark McIntyre

Good Monday morning, everybody! One thing you'll notice about today is that it will be muggier -- a hot one too with upper 80s and low 90s. A few stray showers/storms are possible this afternoon but it won't be a washout. Heading to the beach to cool off? Keep in mind that there's a High Risk for rip currents at Suffolk County beaches, Moderate Risk elsewhere.
Tomorrow will be a few degrees cooler with a bit less humidity, and there could be a sprinkle or two, but most will stay dry. Wednesday will be more like Monday with upper 80s and some 90s with a better chance for scattered thunderstorms along with sticky humidity.
Looking ahead to the weekend, a dip in the jet stream will bring drier air and cooler temps. How do highs in the mid & upper 70s sound? Perfect timing for the unofficial end of summer heading into the long holiday weekend.
Have a great day & stay cool!
