Police: Man Sexually Assaults 24-Year-Old Woman In Brooklyn Alleyway

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)-- Police have released images of a man who they say attempted to rape a young woman in the Bedford–Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn.

At around 5:50 a.m. on August 21, the man ran past a 24-year-old woman and turned toward her with a knife demanding that she follow him, police said.

The suspect then took the victim to an alleyway in between 19 Louis Pl. and 19A Louis Pl. where he allegedly pulled down her pants and licked her genitals. Afterward he turned her around and fondled her breasts and buttocks, according to the report.

The man then took her cell phone and fled in an unknown direction, police said.

The individual is described as a black man, 30 to 40 years old, 5 foot 6 to 5 foot 7, 190 pounds with a mustache and was last seen wearing blue shorts and a brown shirt.

Anyone with information regarding the crime is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
