NYPD: Man Robbing Elderly Women In The Bronx
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police in the Bronx are trying to identify a man who they said is robbing elderly women.
The NYPD said the suspect struck at least twice last month.
The first incident happened around 11 a.m. on Aug. 14.
Police said he entered the home of a 90-year-old woman on Adams Place through an unlocked door and demanded money. He took $40 in cash, a gold chain that had two wedding rings and a cross on it, police said.
Then just after 6 p.m. on Aug. 21, police said targeted an 82-year-old woman who was walking in the area of Arthur Avenue and East 188th Street.
Police said he got into her building after following her into the vestibule. He then grabbed a gold chain from her neck, pushed her down, kicked her while she was on the ground and fled, police said.
The victim refused medical attention.
Police said the suspect was seen on surveillance video.
He is described by a investigators as a white or Hispanic man. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, gray shorts, black sneakers and a black baseball cap.
