Beyoncé, Under Vocal Rest, Postpones Wednesday MetLife Stadium Concert

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Beyoncé has postponed a planned Wednesday concert at MetLife Stadium due to orders for vocal rest.

Beyoncé had been set to appear Wednesday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey Formation World Tour. The concert has been postponed to Friday, Oct. 7, according to a statement.

"Strict doctor's orders for vocal rest" were cited as the reason.

Fans holding tickets for the previously-scheduled performance should keep them, as they will be valid for the new date.

If necessary, fans can also get refunds starting Thursday at their point of purchase.

Tickets for the Oct. 7 concert are available via Ticketmaster.

Fans in St. Louis, Los Angeles, Santa Clara, Houston, New Orleans, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Nashville can rest easy though. Queen Bey will be proceeding with those dates as planned.

The Formation World Tour in support of her album "Lemonade" kicked off April 27 in Miami and was to conclude Oct. 2 in Nashville.

Beyoncé turned 35 on Sunday and attended the Made in America Festival in Philadelphia with her husband and festival founder Jay-Z.
