Watch: 'Brigitte Quinn's 22 Minutes' With Heather And Terry Dubrow

In this installment of "22 Minutes," 1010 WINS anchor Brigitte Quinn sits down with television personalities and authors Heather Dubrow and Dr. Terry Dubrow about their new book "Dr. and Mrs. Guinea Pig Present The Only Guide You'll Ever Need to the Best Anti-Aging Treatments."

BQ: Now Dr. and Mrs. Guineau Pig, explain that.

TD: I've been a doctor for a lot of years and Heather used to come home and say to me in the beginning of my practice, "Hey what about this treatment, does it work?" I'd go, "No, it doesn't work... that doesn't work." And she'd say, "Some of this stuff has to work!" So ultimately we started testing everything on ourselves to determine what works and what doesn't work. This area of health, wellness and beauty is filled with things that don't work. We call them "wallet biopsy." In reality, there's a lot of good and a lot of nonsense. We wanted to give people the opportunity to see what will work for them.

HD: I believe everything works, or at least I wanted to believe it. Most of us want to have a jar of hope. I want to think everything works and Terry thinks nothing works. So a lot of how this started, it was Terry had a cold and he refused to take cold medicine. So he finally took some and he felt better and he had a little "ah-ha" moment. So we tried more things and lotions and potions.

BQ: I'm gonna jump ahead to the very end of the book, you have some wacky treatments! Leech therapy and a snail smile-- you actually tried these things?

HD: Yes! Everything in this book we either tried, had Terry perform it or brought an expert in. We really wanted to give everyone a comprehensive guide to the risk-reward. Because some things work, some things don't. What's worth the money?

BQ: You also talk about make-up in the book. Lately I've been noticing celebrities and this minimalist movement: less is more. Does that work for everybody?

HD: It takes a lot of make-up to get a natural look. Most people don't realize that your skin has to be absolutely perfect if you're going to do the "natural look." I think it's all about confidence and what makes you feel good makes you look good.
