Inactives For Jets-Bills: Sammy Watkins Set To Play

Bryan Altman

After a week of speculation, Sammy Watkins will suit up for the Buffalo Bills (0-1) on Thursday Night Football when they play host to the New York Jets (0-1) tonight in Orchard Park.

Coming off of offseason foot surgery that kept him out of most of the Bills' OTAs, Sammy Watkins struggled in Week 1 and there was talk about shutting the star wide receiver down for the season.

But x-rays revealed Watkins did not re-aggravate the injury and it's simply a matter of pain tolerance for him as far as his availability goes the rest of the season.

How effective he will be remains to be seen. In Week 1 Watkins was limited to just four catches for 43 yards, but he'll be on the field tonight for the Bills.

Here are the rest of the inactives for tonight's game.

Inactives:

Jets

QB Bryce Petty — (shoulder)

OLB Jordan Jenkins — (calf)

CB Darryl Roberts — (foot)

QB Christian Hackenberg

RB Troymaine Pope

OG Dakota Dozier

OT Brandon Shell

Bills

QB Cardale Jones — (shoulder)

LT Cordy Glenn —  (ankle)

LB Brandon Spikes

S Colt Anderson — (foot)

K Jordan Gay

RB Jonathan Williams

C Patrick Lewis

Kickoff is at 8:25 p.m. ET tonight and the game will air live on CBS as well as Twitter and the NFL Network.

Bryan Altman is, for some reason, an unabashed fan of the Rangers, Jets and Mets. If he absolutely had to pick a basketball team it would be the Knicks, but he'd gladly trade them for a championship for any of his other three teams.
