Port Authority Police Rescue Puppy Struck On George Washington Bridge

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Port Authority police rescued a puppy that was hit by a truck on the George Washington Bridge.

Last Saturday, 6-month-old Ronin wriggled out his collar while out for a walk with his owners on Fort Washington Avenue in Manhattan.

He sprinted onto the bridge where he was hit the truck. He was then rescued by officers Fred Corrubia and Jonathan Harder, who found Ronin bleeding from his right front paw and leg.

The pup was taken to Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus for emergency treatment.

Ronin and his owners were later reunited.
