Tom Hanks Surprises Newlyweds In Central Park

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Tom Hanks surprised a newlywed couple as they took their wedding photos in Central Park.

The Oscar-winning actor was jogging through the park when he stopped to introduce himself to the bride and groom.

Video shows Hanks kiss the bride's hand before agreeing to pose for some photos himself.

Hanks snapped a selfie with the couple on his own phone before resuming his run. He posted the picture on Instagram, saying "Congrats and blessings!"

The actor declined an invitation to the reception, saying he already had plans, but joked that he would officiate the wedding if need be.

He became an ordained minister to officiate actress Allison Williams' wedding last year.
