'The Whole Community Came Together': Local Businesses, Students Give Food To First Responders After Deadly NJ TRANSIT Train Crash
HOBOKEN, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - In the aftermath of the deadly NJ TRANSIT train crash Thursday, the community rallied together to provide comfort to first responders.

CBS2's Kristine Johnson visited the restaurant Texas, Arizona in Hoboken, The restaurant opened its doors to first responders, and put out food for them. Restaurants all along the River Street area donated food, Johnson reported.
Johnson spoke with the two men who organized it, Mike and Greg.
"These first responders are very important," Mike told Johnson. "I come from a family of police officers, so we did what we're here to do."
Greg recalled the first moments after the crash.
"It was very loud, very confusing," Greg said. "There were a bunch of people running out. I didn't really know what was going on for a few minutes. Obviously people think of worse things, I guess, than this when things like this happen. That's pretty much how it was."
Mike said he's glad that people appreciate the donations, but there's more to it than that.
"It feels great, but it wasn't just us. The whole community came together, just like Hurricane Sandy," Mike said. "Vente Pizza, Carlos' Bakery, One Republic Restaurant, Jimmy John's, the W Hotel, Johnny Pepperoni, the list goes on and on, Chipotle, all the fraternaties and sororities from Stevens College. It showed that Hoboken's a really tight community and they really came through."
