NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A school bus with special needs students crashed and tipped over on the Bruckner Expressway in the Bronx Wednesday.

The accident happened around 1 p.m. on the southbound Bruckner Expressway near Tremont Avenue, officials said.

Five children and three adults suffered minor injuries, officials said. They were all taken to Jacobi Medical Center.

The Little Lisa bus company, which operated the bus, said the children on the bus had special needs and attended P.S. 114 in the Bronx. A Little Lisa representative said the driver reported the bus was sideswiped and then flipped on its side.
