NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — There are celebrity panels, autograph sessions, and photo ops planned for Comic Con, but fans and exhibitors said it’s so much more.
“You can come and meet other like-minded people and you can really enjoy it, you don’t have to feel like oh I’m a nerd or an outcast, now it’s mainstream, now you’re a cool person,” said Heather from costume company ‘Smooth On.’
Fans of everything pop-culture were picking up their tickets on Wednesday, as crews put the finishing tickets on exhibits.
Ben from Bay Ridge said he was looking forward to anything Star Wars related, but wouldn’t be dressing up as a character as many fans do.
“Just wearing a regular shirt, not getting to wild because you gotta walk around and it gets uncomfortable,” he told 1010 WINS’ Samantha Liebman.
Predictions for popular costumes include anything from the new series Stranger Things and Pokemon.
The event runs from October 6-9, at the Javits Center in Hell’s Kitchen.
