Several Manhattan Schools Threatened By Clowns On Social Media

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Principals from more than a dozen Manhattan schools sent letters home to parents informing them of threats made on social media involving clowns.

Creepy clown incidents have been spooking people across the country, and now 20 schools in the city have received threats, WCBS 880’s Sophia Hall reported.

The threats were posted on Facebook and Instagram, saying, “we are coming.”

The letters said that school administrators were working with the NYPD and urged any student who has been threatened to contact the police.

Recently, there have been reports of teenagers being threatened by people in scary clown costumes, including one incident on a 6 train in the Upper East Side.

In Roselle Park, New Jersey, police asked parents to not let their children dress as clowns for Halloween this year.
