LISTEN: Francesa Says Odell Beckham Jr.'s Kicking Net Antics Are 'Dumbest Thing I've Ever Seen'

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Odell Beckham Jr. jokingly got engaged to a kicking net Sunday.

Mike Francesa wasn't among those laughing.

The WFAN host said the Giants wide receiver's antics "make me sick." Francesa called Beckham's latest display -- laying down with the net on top of him and then later dropping to one knee and popping the question -- the "dumbest thing I've ever seen" and criticized others for encouraging him.

"I wish I had the names of the guys who were middle-aged guys standing around that net in suits (on the sideline) laughing it up like this was the greatest thing they ever saw," Francesa said. "Are you just fools? Would you laugh at anything?

"Why would anybody want to make it bigger than it is? I saw things from media people saying, 'Oh, this is hilarious.' Hilarious? What's funny about it? I think it's the most selfish, dumbest thing I've ever seen. Is this worldwide wrestling now we're running here, or is this the NFL?

"It's almost like everybody wants to ingratiate themselves to this player, and I mean everybody -- I mean the Giants, I mean the head coach, I mean their coaches, I mean media, I mean anybody that's on that sideline. It's unbelievable."

Francesa, however, did give Beckham credit for his game-winning TD catch against the Ravens.

"We all know this guy, as you see, turns a ... play designed to go nowhere into a game-winning touchdown," Francesa said. "He turns a quick slant into a 66-yard game-winner. There's nobody, I don't think, in the league that could make that play except him. Not one guy."

Francesa said he wasn't too upset about Beckham being penalized for removing his helmet after the score.

"I've seen enough 'me' guys do that," he said. "I saw Emmitt Smith do that in big spots. I've seen guys who are really good players who don't do a lot of 'me' stuff accidentally take their helmet off in an exciting moment. So I'm not going to go that crazy over the helmet thing, if that's all it was."
