Queens Man Accused Of Sending Fake Rodent Violation Letters To Residents

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Queens man faces conspiracy and mail fraud charges after he allegedly sent fake city letters fining residents for rodent violations.

Police said 31-year-old David Han sent 10,000 fraudulent notices, trying to bilk people out of more than $1 million.

The letters insisted residents pay $120 to $280 fines to the vermin control of New York.

Police said about 100 victims mailed checks.
