1 Dead After Fire Sweeps Through Vacant Apartment Building, Spreads In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- One person is dead after an extra-alarm fire broke out Tuesday night in an apartment building in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn.
The fire broke out around 8:45 p.m. at 420 Lincoln Ave. in Brooklyn, the FDNY said. The three-story apartment building was vacant, the FDNY said.
The fire was raised to a third alarm at 9:10 p.m., fire officials said. The roof to the building collapsed, and flames spread to an adjacent building, the FDNY said.
Officials confirmed to CBS2's Valerie Castro that one person died in the vacant building.
The FDNY tweeted video of the blaze.
Neighbor Ciji Marie also took video at the scene and posted it to Instagram.
The fire was out by 9:50 p.m
