NYPD: Separate Halloween Robberies Target Banks In Queens, Staten Island

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is searching for two suspects wanted in separate bank robberies in Queens and on Staten Island.

One suspect entered a Flushing Bank location on Kissena Boulevard shortly after 12 p.m. on Monday, slipping the bank teller a note demanding cash, police said.

The suspect then fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

The NYPD describes the suspect as a man between 30-35 years old, standing between 5'7" and 5'8" tall, with a beard and mustache. He was last seen wearing a black knitted hat, black sneakers, a gray hooded sweatshirt and a green-and-gray plaid jacket.

A surveillance image of the suspect can be viewed above.

Police say another suspect also struck a Santander Bank on Staten Island at around 12:50 p.m.

In this instance, the teller refused to hand over funds and the suspect left the bank empty-handed.

The Staten Island suspect, whose photo was posted by the NYPD on Tuesday, then entered a Northfield Bank on Bay Street several hours later and demanded money from the teller there. The suspect fled with an undetermined amount of money.

The NYPD is asking anyone with information on the incidents to contact Crime Stoppers by calling (800) 577-TIPS, texting tips to 274567 (CRIMES) and entering TIP577, or by logging on to their website at www.NYPDCrimeStoppers.com. Tips can remain anonymous.
