Giants Score Twice Off Carson Wentz Turnovers

Rahul Lal

The New York Giants are facing off against the division rival Philadelphia Eagles. The Giants and Eagles are each tied with a 4-3 record trailing the division leading Dallas Cowboys by two games each.

The Giants opened up the game on a tear using defense to create offense. Rookie Carson Wentz began the season on a tear for the Eagles putting his name in the record books for not turning the ball over with the likes of Tom Brady and fellow rookie Dak Prescott. Since, Wentz has had a bit of trouble and it showed as he began the game with two interceptions on the team's first two possessions.

Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. were able to capitalize off of safety Landon Collins' initial interception to put six points on the board. Beckham created some space running into the middle of the field and used his speed to outrun the Eagles' pass coverage for the easy score.

After another bad interception thrown by the rookie, another score by the Giants. Cornerback Andrew Adams was on the receiving side of Wentz's throw in the second drive of the game and wide receiver Roger Lewis is found wide open deep in the endzone for the 30 yard touchdown.

The Eagles did go on to score a field goal on the next possession and currently trail 14-3 in the first quarter. The Giants will look to keep up the defensive pressure and force Wentz to make uncomfortable throws and gain outright possession of second place in the brutal NFC East.
