Ex-Edison, N.J. Cop Accused In Another Arson Plot Against Supervisor

EDISON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A former Edison, New Jersey police officer accused of firebombing a supervisor's house was facing new accusations Monday.

As CBS2'S Dick Brennan reported, prosecutors claim Michael Dotro previously tried to do the same thing with the help of an officer who is still on the force.

Dotro was accused of setting fire to his boss' Monroe Township home in May 2013.

Edison Police Capt. Mark Anderko, his wife, two children and 92-year-old mother were asleep inside in the two-story colonial-style home on Arlene Drive at the time of the alleged incident.

No one was injured in the fire.

On Monday, the Middlesex County Prosecutor's office said Dotro and current Edison Patrolman Christian Pedana plotted to set fire to a different supervisor's home.

It supposedly happened a month before the fire at Anderko's home.

The motive is not known in either case.

The new charges involving both officers include conspiring to commit aggravated arson.
