LISTEN: Victor Cruz Says Sprained Ankle Not Bad, He Could Play Monday Night

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz says his ankle injury isn't serious and he has a chance to return Monday night against the Bengals.

An MRI revealed that Cruz has a low-grade ankle sprain. He suffered the injury in the second quarter of Sunday's win over the Eagles when cornerback Leodis McKelvin landed on the receiver's right ankle while making a tackle from behind on Cruz's 46-yard reception.

"It is a little sore today, I'm not going to lie," Cruz said during his weekly appearance on Mike Francesa's WFAN show Tuesday. "But it's optimistic, and everything looks like it's pointed in the right direction. I've just got to get through this week, get through some good days of treatment and see how I feel."

When asked if he'd be able to play against Cincinnati, Cruz said he's taking it day by day. He said the worst-case scenario is that he'd miss one game.
