What To Expect From The Trumps: The New First Family

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- What might we expect when Donald Trump and his family move into the White House?

As CBS2's Dave Carlin reported, soon-to-be First Lady Melania Trump will be in the White House, and she will be everywhere. Any anonymity she has left will disappear.

"She'll be thrust in the limelight," said Ellen Rosenblatt of the Upper East Side.

She will appear on many more magazine covers and articles about the incoming First Lady, her style, and how she is handling the responsibilities of her job.

Melania Trump has said her focus will be on her husband and her 10-year-old son, Barron, whose life likely will change far more than adult siblings. Ivanka Trump has a fashion brand, and she and her brothers Donald Jr. and Eric have figured prominently in their father's business empire.

"People bring their children to the White House -- that's normal," said Joe Pennacchio of Flushing, Queens.

Few doubt the former professional model from Slovenia will be a stylish First Lady, wearing $1,00 outfits.

She is expected to redecorate the White House, as so many in her position did before.

But many ask how far they will go. Public relations and communications experts, including Richard Auletta, cautions them to strive for subtlety.

"Is this now going to be a gilded Trump White House, or is this still going to be a house of the people?" Auletta said. "She is a woman of dignity."

Some consider the Trumps a potential political dynasty. A few commentators have suggested Donald Trump Jr.'s name as a possible future candidate for New York City mayor.
