34-Year-Old Woman Punched In Face At Brooklyn Subway Station, Police Say

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a suspect after a 34-year-old woman was repeatedly punched in the face at a subway stop in Brooklyn on Nov. 10.

According to the NYPD, a man, believed to be in his late 20's,  hit the victim several times on a stairwell at the Avenue M "Q" train station in Midwood at around 8 a.m. last Thursday.

The woman had swelling in her face and a cut on her hand following the attack, but refused medical attention, police said.

Officials say the assault may have stemmed from an argument after one cut the other on the staircase.

The NYPD describes the suspect as around 5'4" tall and weighing around 130 pounds. A photo of the suspect taken by the victim can be viewed above.

An investigation is ongoing.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS or by logging on to their website at www.NYPDcrimestoppers.com. Tips can remain anonymous.
