Travel Back In Time: MTA Rolls Out Vintage Buses, Train For Holiday Season
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Every holiday season, a few of New York's buses and subways travel back in time.
Riders of a certain age will flash back to the 1950s when they see the green and white bus that looks just like the one Jackie Gleason drove in "The Honeymooners" chugging along 42 Street for a few weeks, WCBS 880's Alex Silverman reported.
Another vintage GM bus painted two-tone teal will hit the road starting December 5. It was the first model with fiberglass seats because the cushioned ones kept getting vandalized.
The nostalgia will be visible underground too.

Starting this Sunday, you can ride a 1930s era train if you're lucky enough to catch it along the M line.
Unfortunately, the old 5-cent fare will not be coming back. It's a modern $2.75 to ride.
