Missing Connecticut Boy With Autism Found Dead In Texas

PEARLAND, T.X. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Texas confirmed Saturday that a missing Connecticut boy with autism has been found dead.

Nine-year-old Marcus McGee had been missing since Thursday afternoon, according to the Pearland Police Department.

WCBS sister station KHOU reported that the boy's family was in Texas from Connecticut for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Lt. Oneismo Lopez told KHOU that the boy was found in a body of water near the family's property.

KHOU reported that McGee was the nephew of former New York Knicks center Marcus Camby.

Fans of Camby's, once a fan favorite, took to social media to offer their condolences.

KHOU reports that a vigil for the deceased boy will be held Saturday at 6 p.m., local time.

The River Street School in Bloomfield, Connecticut called McGee a very special person who "will be missed dearly by all who knew him." The school will be making counselors available for both students and staff, WCBS 880's Mike Smeltz reported.

Police said there were no signs of foul play.
