Trump Tower Briefly Appears As 'Dump Tower' On Google Maps

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Someone renamed Trump Tower on Google Maps this weekend, and the new moniker wasn't very flattering.

For a period of time Saturday, Trump Tower appeared on Google Maps as "Dump Tower."

Numerous people took to Twitter late Saturday upon noticing the change. Some seemed to be amused, others infuriated.

Republican president-elect Donald Trump had not yet commented on the incident Sunday. Trump has been using Trump Tower as his transition headquarters.

A Google spokeswoman told The Associated Press that the company had changed the name back to its original.

The spokeswoman said user contributions help provide an up-to-date map, but also occasionally lead to inaccuracies.
