Video Shows Trio Who Stole Wallets From Purses, Went On Gucci Shopping Spree, Police Say

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The NYPD wants your help finding three people that they say worked together to lift wallets from purses at shops in Manhattan.

The trio have struck at least twice, according to police.

In one incident, the three are caught on video inside the Zara clothing shop on Broadway between Spring and Broome Streets back on Oct. 14.

The video shows one of the suspects - a woman - reaching into the victim's purse while another woman and man distracted her.

In another incident on Oct. 26, the same group is believed to have robbed another woman at Victoria's Secret on West 34th Street.

The thieves got away with cash and credit cards. They then racked up thousands in unauthorized credit card purchases at the Gucci store nearby, police said.

Anyone with any information about the group is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74762) for Spanish. You can also submit a tip via the Crime Stoppers website or by texting a tip to CRIMES (274637) and then entering TIP577.

All calls are kept confidential.
