Pierre-Paul's Monster Game Earns Him NFC Defensive Player Of Week

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It seemed before the clock hit all zeros in the Giants' win Sunday over the Browns, many people were already declaring Jason Pierre-Paul the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.

On Wednesday, it became official.

In the 27-13 victory at Cleveland, Pierre-Paul registered three sacks, forced a fumble and returned another fumble 43 yards for a touchdown. The defensive end finished with a total of seven tackles.

For the season, Pierre-Paul has 50 tackles, seven sacks and three forced fumbles. Five and a half of his sacks have come in the past two weeks.

This is the third time this season a Giant has won the honor. Safety Landon Collins was selected the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after New York's Oct. 23 win over the Rams and again after Big Blue beat the Eagles on Nov. 6.

In addition, Janoris Jenkins won NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after the Giants' victory over the Saints in Week 2, and Odell Beckham Jr. won NFC Offensive Player of the Week after the Oct. 16 victory over the Ravens.
