Workshop Helps Potential Nassau Coliseum Applicants Prepare For Group Interview Process

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A workshop was held Saturday on Long Island to help prepare men and women to interview for the 1,300 jobs that will be available when the Nassau Coliseum reopens in April.

Dressed in their Sunday best, the applicants filtered into the Uniondale fire department.

The workshop focused on the group interview process that will take place in the coming months for servers, bartenders, cooks, janitorial staff and more, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported.

More than 10,000 people are expected to apply, and those living in Uniondale will have their applications reviewed first.

"I'm looking for any accounting, finance or public-affairs related types of employment," one of the job seekers, Jamal Vanderburg, told Hall.

When asked what he thought of the group interview process, he said, "when you look at the ways things are going these day, nothing is really that usual anymore."

Most of the positions will be part-time.
