N.J. Man Tries To Sell Woman Stolen Laptop, Then Tries To Rob Her At Gunpoint, Police Say
PROSPECT PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A 19-year-old Paterson, New Jersey man faces multiple charges after he tried to sell a woman a stolen laptop, then tried to rob her at gunpoint, police said.
Zamier Reed arranged to meet the woman in Prospect Park, New Jersey on November 25.
When he got into her car, he pulled a handgun and ordered her to withdraw money from a Chase bank ATM on Haledon Avenue, police said.
A detective was standing near the ATM and was able to apprehend Reed.
He was charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon of an unlawful purpose, terroristic threats and theft.
Police said Reed had a black Phoenix Arms Raven .25 caliber handgun, which was loaded with six rounds and one in the chamber.
