Levittown Family Makes Joke In Response To Neighbors' Holiday Display

LEVITTOWN, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Levittown, Long Island family put on their usual dramatic holiday light display this year, while their next-door neighbors decided to respond with a joke.

The Engel family put up an assortment of bright lights on their house and their evergreen trees on Coachman Lane, surrounded by brilliantly-lit figurines of snowmen, Santa Claus and reindeer.

The Paganelli family next door decided not to go with a grand display of their own. Instead, they put up the word "ditto," with an arrow pointing toward the Engels' house, CBS2 reported.

The Engel family with the lights on their house is planning a holiday fundraiser all along the block from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, with an appearance by Santa Claus, hot chocolate and coffee donated by Starbucks, and candy canes. A performance by Ella Marie Dance Studio and a visit from the Levittown Fire Department are also planned.

Proceeds will go to St. Jude's Children Hospital, and unwrapped toys will be donated to the John Theissen Children's Foundation.
