Video Shows Suspects Accused Of Using Stolen Credit Card To Buy TV, Metrocard

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The NYPD has a cautionary tale about falling asleep in the subway.

A 28-year-old man fell asleep at the Briarwood E/F subway station at around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday morning Nov. 19, police said. When he woke up, he found that his laptop bag had been stolen.

Inside the bag was a laptop, prescription medication, credit cards and more.

Police later released surveillance video of two suspects they say used one of the stolen credit cards. A woman used the card to buy a MetroCard that same day at the 110th Street subway station on the Lexington Avenue line, according to police. The next day, another man used the card to purchase a TV and mobile phone at a Target in East Harlem.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), or 1-888-57-PISTA for Spanish. You can also submit a tip via the Crime Stoppers website or by texting a tip to 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577.
