Police Search For Duo Who Attacked Woman In Front Of Her Kids
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a man and a woman who attacked a mother in front of her children as they tried to enter the 170th Street subway station.
The incident happened on October 13 around 7:30 a.m. at East 170th Street and the Grand Concourse in the Bronx.
As the 38-year-old mother approached the subway turnstile, she was approached by a man who asked if she wanted to buy a swipe from his Metro card, police said. The woman declined and used her own card.
She then went to open the emergency gate to let her two children through, but it was blocked by a woman.
Police said an argument ensued and the man and woman punched the mother in the face and body, and they pulled out her hair.
She was taken to Harlem Hospital to be treated. The children were not hurt.
Police described the first suspect as a 30-year-old black man, between 5 feet 10 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall and 170 to 190 pounds. The second suspect was described as a black woman in her 20s, 5 feet 6 inches tall and between 120 and 140 pounds.
