Here's What Has To Happen For Giants To Clinch Playoff Spot This Week

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A lot must fall into place for the Giants to clinch a playoff berth in Week 15 -- but it is possible.

For that to happen, Big Blue (9-4) first needs to take care of business at home Sunday against the 9-4 Lions, who are riding a five-game winning streak.

The Giants also need:
The Panthers to beat the Redskins on Monday night.
• The Colts to beat or tie the Vikings on Sunday.
The Bears to beat or tie the Packers.

The bad news is that all three of those teams the Giants are rooting for are underdogs this week. The good news is that, even if New York cannot lock up a playoff spot this week, there's still two more weeks to do so.

The Cowboys are the only team to clinch a berth so far. Dallas can win the NFC East with a victory this week over the Buccaneers and a Giants loss, meaning New York would have to go the wild-card route -- which is the likeliest scenario anyway.
