Report: No Internal Injuries For Giants' Jenkins

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins received some good news Monday after leaving Sunday's win over the Lions with a scary injury.

Jenkins suffered what the team initially described as a back injury. However, tests were performed to determine whether Jenkins had sustained any internal or organ damage. Those tests have all come back negative, according to multiple reports.

It's unclear when Jenkins might return to action. The Giants will have a short week to prepare for their Week 16 game against the Eagles Thursday night at MetLife Stadium.

One of the Giants' big free-agent signings in March, Jenkins has 48 tackles and three interceptions this season. He also returned a blocked field goal for a touchdown in a Week 2 win over New Orleans.
