Paterson Cops Greeted With Gunshots During Domestic Violence Call

PATERSON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- It was an early afternoon call of domestic violence on Friday afternoon, that brought Paterson police to an apartment building on Martin Street -- just off of 21st Ave.

It's where officers were met by an armed man who reportedly fired at them. A cop returned fire, striking the suspect in the shoulder and leg.

The suspect was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. None of the responding officers were hurt.
