CBS2 Sources: Man Stabbed At Staten Island House Party During Fight Over Girl

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — An 18-year-old man was stabbed during a fight over a girl that broke out at a house party on Staten Island, sources told CBS2.

It happened just after 11 p.m. Monday at a home on the 200 block of Koch Boulevard near Harold Avenue in Annadale.

Police responded to the home after receiving reports that an 18-year-old man — one of the party guests — was stabbed multiple times. What sources say began as an argument over a girl ended with the teen in critical condition, with seven or eight knife wounds in the torso.

Police said there were more than 100 teens at the party when the fight broke out and spilled into the street. It’s not clear if the homeowners were at the house at the time.

Soffiya Rashid, who lives across the street, said she could hear the commotion from inside of her bedroom.

“It was extremely loud, like so loud. Not a lot of young people live here, there’s not a lot of parties. It’s usually very, very quiet, but it was really, really loud,” Rashid said. “It sounded like a lot of screaming and stuff, but like party stuff. I see so many cops and I thought it was just a loud party.”

The victim was taken to Staten Island University Hospital, where he was rushed into surgery. He is now in stable condition.

Investigators believe the victim knew his attacker.

Detectives and crime scene investigators could be seen searching the street Tuesday, looking for the weapon used in the attack.

No arrests have been made.

Investigators said the victim was not actually invited to the party — that he found out about it on Snapchat, and showed up wit his girlfriend.
