Gas Main Break Causes Evacuations At RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick Emergency Room

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - The emergency room at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital New Brunswick was evacuated after a contractor broke a gas main Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

PSEG said the gas main was located just under the ambulance ramp at the emergency room near Somerset and Little Albany Streets.

A three block area around the break was evacuated, including at least two schools, police said.

The gas main has since been capped, authorities said.
