Fire Rips Through 3 Homes In Newark

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A fire swept through three homes in Newark Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Newark police reported firefighters put out the blaze on the 100 block of Brookdale Avenue in Newark at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Police and paramedics also responded to the scene.

Only one of the houses was occupied, police said. No injuries were reported.

The cause and origin of the fire were under investigation late Tuesday.
