2 Homes Damaged By Fire In East Orange, New Jersey

EAST ORANGE, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Two homes were damaged in an early morning two-alarm fire in East Orange, New Jersey.

Investigators say the fire started in an occupied home on Hollywood Avenue just after 6 a.m. Tuesday and then spread to a vacant house next door.

"The flames were shooting out about 20 feet in the air, right next door to us," one neighbor said.

"This is the second fire and I'm ready to move off the block," said another. "Every time I turn around, there's a fire on this block."

Investigators haven't said exactly what started the fire.

Everyone was able to get out, but one firefighter was hurt.
