NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Grimaldi’s pizzeria in Brooklyn has been closed by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

The famed restaurant on Front Street in DUMBO was shut down after an inspection found several violations that could not be fixed immediately.

Sources told CBS2 mice droppings were discovered throughout the pizzeria.

The health department said it is working with Grimaldi’s to resolve the issues and reopen the restaurant.
