NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A pedestrian was struck by a falling piece of debris Friday afternoon in TriBeCa, officials said.

It happened around 2:15 p.m. Friday on Barclay Street near Greenwich Street.

One witness told CBS2's Ali Bauman the victim fell to the ground but was not bleeding when an ambulance arrived. The man was conscious, holding his neck and talking to emergency responders.

"I saw the man. He's OK. Maybe, I think, he want to go to the hospital. I think he will be OK," he said. "Not broken, not bloody."

The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital.

The Department of Buildings said the incident was caused by window cleaners.
