The duo behind the TLC show, 19 Kids and Counting are in New York celebrating the season premiere of their show, and getting a little TLC of their own.

Even after more than 20 years of marriage, Jim Bob admits that Valentine’s Day can be intimidating for a guy.

He told People  magazine:

“Men don’t always know what to get for Valentine’s Day…They have these teddy bears everywhere, and Michelle said, ‘Please don’t get me one of those giant bears,’ so I am going to listen to her and take her out to eat. It is really nice to spend some romantic time together in New York.”

They may want to keep the romance in check, lest they go back to Arkansas with another baby on board.

When questioned about the miscarriage the couple suffered last year, 18 weeks into the pregnancy, Michelle said, ”I am feeling good physically.”

“I am still sad in the fact that we miss our Jubilee [the name they gave the unborn child believed to have been female], but we don’t grieve as those who have no hope. I am thankful for everything that we have to remember her. She is in our hearts.”

The new season of 19 Kids and Counting premieres tonight on TLC.

The rehearsals are well under way. Tony Bennett, who performed on the very first Grammy Awards, returns for the 54th show this Sunday, and the singer says it never gets old.

“I’ve been on every single one that we’ve had through the years,” Bennett said Friday after rehearsing a duet with Carrie Underwood. “And what I love about it — this is the only place where all the performers get together in one weekend, and it’s so great to see old friends and new guys that are coming up.”

The 85-year-old entertainer said he knows most of the artists, “and the new ones, I’m interested in.”

He and Underwood are set to perform the 1924 classic “It Had to Be You.” Underwood, 28, called Bennett “America’s most enduring artist.”

Indeed, Bennett will be celebrated for his own classic song, the 50-year-old hit “I Left My Heart in San Francisco,” in the City by the Bay next week.

After running through their Grammy performance three times, Bennett told Underwood, “It was beautiful singing with you.”

“She’s beautiful and she sings great and she’s so popular,” he said as he came off stage. “It’s just a wonderful experience to be on the show.”

The pair is also set to present the award for best new artist. Up for the honor are The Band Perry, Bon Iver, J. Cole, Nicki Minaj and Skrillex.

Meanwhile, crews are getting the stage ready. The teleprompters are up and the celebrity seat assignments are set.

The Grammys will be presented Sunday at Staples Center and broadcast live on CBS starting at 8 p.m.

Actor, producer and humanitarian Danny Glover was in Manhattan on Friday, during Black History Month, as part of a major initiative to provide affordable energy to New York City residents.

Glover will be leading an affordable energy community forum at the Family Life Center located at 172^nd & Linden Blvd. in Queens.

He was also in town to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the film Lethal Weapon — a film he said changed his life.

While in The Big Apple, he also found some time to stop by 1010 WINS and chat with anchor Brian Carey.

They’re scouting for a sixth season – and inching closer to New York City.

According to PageSix, the show’s producer’s think the cast has outgrown Shore life, so they’ve been in talks with Jersey City officials regarding  permits to film there.

The Situation and crew have yet to sign their contracts. If they do, they’ll only be a short Path ride away from the Big Apple.

But don’t expect any hometown love for the production crew. Governor Chris Christie denied the Snooki squad a $420,000 tax credit for shooting in the Garden State.

In addition to Jersey City, producers for the show are scouting locations in Las Vegas and Los Angeles for the unexpected bonus season.

When the news broke that Nick Cannon was rushed to the hospital for a “mild  kidney failure,” we didn’t know much more than the messages from Nick and wife Mariah Carey via Twitter on how the actor, TV personality and 92.3 NOW morning show host was feeling.

Well, we received word Monday from Nick’s publicist that will return to his morning show “Rollin’ With  Nick Cannon” on Jan 17.

“Nick Cannon was released over the weekend to  be with his family. He is resting and recovering at home and would like to thank everyone who has expressed concern, well wishes and prayers. He plans to return to his live morning radio show broadcast “Rollin’ with Nick Cannon” on 92.3 NOW  FM on January 17th, 6-10 am EST.” – Tracy Nguyen, rep for Nick Cannon

We’re told you can look forward to a  whole new year of “Rollin,” as well as special guest Howard Stern making an  appearance sometime within the next couple of weeks!

The show was at the famed Cafe Wha? in New York’s West Village. David Lee Roth said that he was “more nervous about this gig than I ever would be in” Madison Square Garden.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – TV Host, actor and 92.3 NOW FM morning show host Nick Cannon isn’t having the best start to his new year.

While on vacation in Aspen, Colorado with his wife Mariah Carey and their 9-month-old twins Moroccan and Monroe (Roc & Roe), their holidays took an ugly turn when one of Nick’s kidneys failed.

After the scare, Mariah got on Twitter and asked her fans to pray for Nick. She also tweeted a picture of Nick in a hospital bed attached to monitors and IVs, while she laid in bed with him:

She later posted the following update to her website:

“This is us in the hospital – role reversal; Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are.

Despite the circumstances, the entertainer is maintaining a positive attitude. “You know me… I will be a’ight,” he tweeted.

He also thanked fans for their “love, prayers and concern.”

We’re trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful. They tried to kick me out of the hospital but here I am pon de bed with Mr. C.

We’re doing OK but we’re “straaaaaanded in Aspen”. #DramaticDivaPlace (I know, we could be in a lot worse places) but the truth is as long as we’re together, we’re OK. I’m not trying to make light out of the situation because it’s a serious moment that’s very tough on all of us so please keep us and our family in your prayers.”

It was Carey who broke the news about Cannon’s hospital visit. “Please pray for Nick as he’s fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure,” she tweeted on Wednesday, noting that her hubby was in a lot of pain.

So what exactly is “minor kidney failure”? Dr. Bryan Becker, the past president of the National Kidney Foundation, told People, “Normally when this happens, medically, we call it acute kidney injury … The decrease in kidney function could have been due to an illness of some sort or taking an over-the-counter medication like Motrin or Advil. It could also be due to dehydration.”

Producers said Wednesday that Jackman, best known as the hairy Wolverine in “The X-Men” franchise, will star as the famed illusionist in “Houdini.” It’s scheduled to reach Broadway during the 2013-14 season.

Academy Award and six-time Emmy Award winner Aaron Sorkin of “West Wing” fame will write the story, and three-time Academy Award and four-time Grammy Award winner Stephen Schwartz of “Wicked” fame will write music and lyrics.

Jackman’s one-man, 10-week Broadway concert show closed Sunday at the Broadhurst Theatre after having earned more than $2 million in its final week. It was the highest weekly gross recorded by the Shubert Organization, which owns the Broadhurst and 16 other Broadway theaters.

The Broadway League reported Tuesday that “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” took in a whopping $2.9 million over nine performances last week, the highest single-week gross of any show in Broadway history.

That shatters the old record held by “Wicked,” which last January recorded the then-highest one-week take on Broadway with a $2.2 million haul over eight shows. The numbers aren’t adjusted for inflation. Last week, “Wicked” took in $2.7 million over nine shows.

The stunt-heavy Spider-Man show at $75 million is the costliest ever on Broadway. It muscled to the top despite a turbulent history, including injuries to actors, delays in opening night, poor reviews and a record-breaking preview period.

With protesters, tourists, celebrators, and actresses all occupying the sidewalks of our fair city, how’s a cop to know who to throw in the paddy wagon?

Actress Ellen Barkin, who resides in the Union Square area, took to Twitter on Sunday to protest the treatment of a young woman she saw being arrested by the police.

Barkin Tweeted,  ”Walking home…13th & 6th, police making random arrests of non protesters.Young girl in police van screaming “I’m just trying 2 get home” followed by ”People being thrown in police vans, arrested for “jaywalking” What happened to the NYPD of my youth? Who are u all? Shame shame on u all.”

The tides turned for Barkin when she went from bystander to activist, trying to intervene on the girl’s behalf.  The actress was apparently grabbed and pushed aside by police. Of course, she Tweeted a play-by-play:

“Just threatened on my street by NYPD, cop shoved me,both hands,onto sidewalk..Is it a crime 2 stand in the street in NY? WTF is going on here?” Barkin wrote.

Later on Sunday Barkin continued her rant about the NYPD in the 140-character-or-less forum, ”I was trying 2 make my way 2 young girl they had thrown in2 the van.She was not a protester.Was not drunk.She was walking home,” she wrote.

Barkin, who is an avid supporter of the Occupy Wall Street movement, later took to blaming Mayor Michael Bloomberg for the event.

She Tweeted later on Sunday ”[Expletive] all of u,Bloomberg & every1 goose-stepping behind u.I cannot believe what I am seeing.U protect nothing.U ARE the violence in my city.”

Luckily, for everyone on the Internet, Barkin’s boyfriend was there and recording the whole thing.

The actress, best known for playing the fun-loving “Blanche” on the Golden Girls, died in New York at age 76 in June 2010. She had left instructions for her family to auction off belongings from her East Side Apartment.

Many of her personal effects are at Adam Hutter’s Auction Gallery on West 55th Street between Ninth and Tenth Avenue.

“A lot of fun things that remind everybody of Rue,” Hutter said. “A photograph that proves it is from her apartment. If there is any doubt then we have clothing, a faux fur, because she was very adamant about animal rights.”

Also on the block are head shots and letters from her days as a struggling actress here in New York City in the late 1950s.

Other items cover many of her professional triumphs on television, in movies, and on the stage, including Broadway’s “Wicked” in 2005.

Auction goers will also get a glimpse of McClanahan the artist.

“When she was doodling she meant it and she brought her colorful life in to her doodling as well,” Hutter said.

“Right here I have what is expected to be the most sought after item of the auction: this Golden Girls script entitled ‘The Burglary,’ signed by the cast. Inside, look, McClanahan circled Blanche’s lines, including this one about her shock at having just be robbed,” he said.

McClanahan fan Gail Geibel said she will be at Saturday’s auction.

“I like her jewelry. I like her bags,” she explained.

Delighted to see many opening bids of less than $100, Geibel intends to get several items as her way of telling the iconic star: “Rue, thank you for being a friend.”

NBC confirmed weeks-old rumors of Stern’s selection to join fellow “Talent” judges Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne. Nick Cannon remains host.

“This is gonna make my job really interesting,” Cannon said on his 92.3 NOW radio show. “I think it’s gonna be good. I really gotta bring my A-game now, because, Howard Stern, you never know what could happen with this guy. I think it’s  gonna make the show even better.”

Stern, whose daily radio show airs on Sirius XM, is replacing Piers Morgan, who departed “Talent” after last season.

In 2005, he took his long-running syndicated show from terrestrial radio to Sirius XM, signed a new five-year contract with the satellite-radio company a year ago after months of stormy negotiations.

Rumors have been circulating about these two coupling up for the last month, and they’re not doing much to squelch those rumors.

According to PEOPLE Magazine the two were spotted earlier this week at  PH-D Rooftop Lounge at the Dream Downtown Hotel.  Cameron was out and about with friends, when Diddy showed up to the party, ordered drinks for everyone, and cozied up to Ms. Cameron.

A source told PEOPLE that “Cameron and Diddy were very affectionate.” That’s code for playing tonsil hockey.

Don’t expect any confirmations from their people, Diaz’s rep remains adamant “They are friends and are not dating.”

Yup, they’re friends who kiss.

Looks like Cameron found herself a rebound upgrade.  Eat your heart out A-Rod.

Christie’s was selling off Elizabeth Taylor’s “legendary jewels.”

CBS 2’s Alexis Christoforous was inside the auction where bidding went through the roof.

Collectors and fans of the Hollywood actress packed Christie’s auction house for the chance to own one of Taylor’s prized possessions.

The crown jewel of her collection was an iconic 33-carat flawless white diamond ring, a gift from husband Richard Burton.

Another Burton gift was a Bulgari emerald and diamond necklace, which sold for $5.4 million.

Eighty earrings, necklaces, pendants and rings went under the gavel, including a diamond and sapphire ring, given to Taylor by the late Michael Jackson. It fetched $600,000.

Experts called the event one of the most important jewelry auctions in a generation.

“A hallmark of this entire collection is the quality of the stones and the craftsmanship,” said Christie’s President and CEO Marc Porter.

It took Taylor a lifetime to amass her jewelry collection. Christie’s said it is among the finest in the world. And as rich as Taylor’s jewels are, so are the stories that come with them.

There was the Cartier diamond tiara, which she wore to the 1957 Academy Awards. It was a gift from her third husband, Hollywood producer Mike Todd.

After a fierce bidding battle, the rare pearl necklace, known as “La Peregrina,” which Queen Mary Tudor of England once owned, sold for a staggering price $10.5 million – a record for any pearl jewel.

But for the well-heeled bidders, the legend of Taylor makes her jewels priceless.

Part of the proceeds will go to the Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation.

Long gone are the days of Clifford Odets and the Group Theater using the Broadway stage as a platform for social change.  Nowadays we just sit back and watch a movie we’ve already seen played out before us.

Turning movies into plays is nothing new to Broadway, favorites like 42nd Street,  Phantom of the Opera and Little Shop of Horrors, all started out as movies and were later converted for the stage.  But this formula seems to be snowballing; taking on just about any movie that carries a wee bit of nostalgia.

Carrie: The Musical, anyone?  What about 9 to 5,  Footloose, The Full Monty, Shrek,  or Legally Blonde?  Every Disney movie ever made?

Even Bring it On is touring as a musical.

A musical version of  Rocky is currently under way.

That’s not all, according to PageSix,  Mike Myers is currently in talks with producers to bring Austin Powers to the stage.  The character that the SNL alumnus made famous in 1997, is being prepped for Broadway, “Mike is in talks to turn ‘Austin Powers’ into a musical stage show. Mike would be heavily involved in writing the show, but he will not star in it, even though he has quite a good singing voice.”

He may not want to perform in eight shows a week due to the fact that he’ll be acting in the fourth instillation of the Austin Powers films.  Myers just signed an agreement with New Line.  He’ll also be writing that script.  That’s a lot of man of mystery for one man to be responsible for.

I can’t say that I don’t love me some Dr. Evil, but I will admit to wishing there were fewer movie theaters on Broadway.

Baldwin, you see, is a regular contributor to The Huffington Post, and used the site as a platform for a not-so-apologetic apology on Wednesday.

Baldwin starts off with an apology to his fellow passengers, but quickly changes the tone of his blog to that of berating the airline (perhaps all airlines) for their treatment of passengers.  The ’30 Rock’ actor insists that he was singled out while countless other passengers used their phones to Tweet, text and conduct business, ”It was never my intention to inconvenience anyone with my ‘issue’ with a certain flight attendant.”

“I was singled out by this woman in the most unpleasant of tones,” he said. “I guess the fact that this woman, who had decided to make some example of me, while everyone else was left undisturbed, did get the better of me.”

Baldwin continued his “apology”, noting the financial hardship airlines face, and implying that airlines now use it to justify sub-par service,  ”I believe carriers and airports have used that as an excuse to make the air travel experience as inelegant as possible.” He  continued on to compare air-travel with that of Greyhound bus service.

Reminiscent of a better, classier, time in air-travel history, Baldwin said the level of service on U.S. carriers has deteriorated “to a point that would make Howard Hughes red-faced.” Including, he wrote “ ”Filthy planes, barely edible meals, cuts in jet service to less-traveled locations.”

Howard Hughes saved his own urine.  I’m not sure he’d be all that upset about you not being allowed to play Scrabble on your phone.

That was quite an apology, Alec.

For it’s part, American Airlines took to Facebook to defend the actions of their employees and claimed that Baldwin was disrespectful to the staff of the flight and not compliant to  air safety regulations.

It took a bit of mourning on the part of every woman on the planet to get over his death, but we’ve gotten through it.  There’s one woman however that may still be deep in mourning.

Thanks to some diary excerpts acquired by RadarOnline.com, we now know a little more about his death.  The diary isn’t his, it’s Lindsay Lohan’s, and apparently the two were a pretty serious item when Ledger died.

Yes. Lindsay Lohan got to be lovey-dovey with Heath Ledger.  If you didn’t hate her before, feel free to start now.

In the never-meant-to-be-public journal, the actress writes, “Today Heath died.”  The then 22-year old Lohan continued, “I’m in love with him…. He was the love of my life. He taught me so much, and he was everything I’ve ever wanted and more. I want to hear him laugh and hold me. I crave his touch and care.”

At the time of his death Lindsay was actually planning a trip to New York to visit the The Dark Knight star.

Ever resourceful, the gossip site even has a phone conversation between LiLo’s parents where Dina tells Michael Lohan that their daughter was “dating Heath when he died.”

See, maybe all this thievery, partying and substance abuse is just Lohan’s way of mourning.  Oh right, she did that before.  Oh well.  I’m still jealous.

Occupy Broadway’s debut protest took place on Friday night’s Manhattan’s Paramount Plaza and featured live performances for the following 24-hours.  According to The Huffington Post, the protest included over 60 performances from some of New York’s most celebrated (albeit apparently disgruntled) actors, musicians, playwrights, puppeteers, and performance artists.

The movement was organized by members of the Occupy Wall Street Performance Guild.  Yes, they have a Performance Guild, and it includes such noted acts the New York Neo-Futurists, the Rude Mechanical Orchestra, Bread and Puppet Theater, the Living Theatre and the Civilians, as well as a plethora of individual artists.

So what’s the point of this 24-hour public performance?  Movement leader Ben Shepard told The Huffington post that, “The whole point is that if you kick us out of the park, we’re going to take it to the city, everywhere, and that’s part of what we’ve been doing with this thing,” said Shepard. “I mean, [New York Mayor Michael] Bloomberg has been trying to tell us that the show’s over. But he’s not really a very good stage manager, because we’re all still on the stage. And at this point you can’t tell the difference between the performers and the spectators, and everyone’s joining in and there are occupations around the world.”

Co-organizer Benjamin Cerf, attested that Occupy Broadway is another example of how vibrant and sustainable the Occupier movement is, “This is really an experiment on the mobility of this movement, because we have brought all the working groups here. We had sustainability, we had the kitchen, the lawyers guild, we had medics — we had everything that a civilization needs, really,” Cerf said. “So we show that we can mobilize this kind of thing in an instant, in a day, and we can respond to any necessity. Here, there was a need to make theater for the people. Tomorrow it will be to support a foreclosure, or any other thing you can imagine.”

Theme protests, I like it.  Maybe they can have more, like Occupy Cupcakes, or Occupy Massages. There have got to be some disgruntled bakers out there, right?

The  Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Frankel was in talks with Warner Brothers subsidiary Telepictures to host a new talk show, she even had backing from ratings giant Ellen DeGeneres, but when the show failed to sell in syndication Telepictures dropped Frankel. According to The New York Post, a source close to Telepictures claimed, “Several stations expressed interest, but there’s probably not room for [Bethenny’s show] this year.”

Bethenny fans will have to drown their tears Frankel’s 38 calorie margarita until the willowy mogul can come up with a new scheme for entertainment domination.

Remember when Lopez was heartbroken over Puff Daddy/Puffy/Diddy? It was none other than one of her backup dancers, Chris Judd, that dried her tears and then married her.

Now that Lopez is licking the wounds of her failed marriage to Latin crooner, Marc Anthony, it’s another backup dancer she’s turning to.  According to TMZ,  Lopez spent the Thanksgiving holiday cozying up to24-year-old Casper Smart in Hawaii.

Smart is a dancer on Lopez’s current tour, and rumor has it that they’ve been friends for months; only recently becoming more intimate.

What is it they say about history, Jennifer?  Those that don’t know it are destined to repeat it.  Yeah, something like that.

The one-bedroom Lower East Side apartment that one Ms. Stefani Germanotta started her music career is on the market, and you could rent this prime real eastate for $1,850 a month.

The Stanton Street property is being shown by agent, John English of CitiHabitats, and it’s not such a bad deal for the price.  The apartment is located near the Bowery Ballroom, and has a small, yet decently sized by LES standards, bedroom; a combo kitchen/living room, and an itty-bitty bathroom.

In an interview with MTV, Gaga spoke of her former habitat, “It was like I had to go lick the ground [on the LES] for a few years to understand New York City and a whole different side of the pavement.”

“I wanted to live alone — live in solitude with my music,” Gaga said of her the apartment she paid $1,100 a month for. “I wanted to read poetry and be overly dramatic about everything and that’s what I did.”

Two very astute tequila drinkers, Christopher Rapcinsky and Erin Baker, claim that the label for the pre-mixed, low calorie alcoholic beverage that states it is “all natural” with “no preservatives”, is total fibbery.

According to the New York Post, Rapcinsky and Baker say in their lawsuit that instead of the agave nectar and 100 percent blue agave tequila that the label states are the only ingredients, the drink actually appears to be “a lower quality and purity tequila by-product called mixto – essentially a mash of tequila and some unknown additives (rarely organic) which may comprise as much as 49 percent of the final mixed liquor.”

Beam Global, the company that bought the margarita mix from Frankel for $100 million, called the suit “frivolous.” The company continued, “Skinnygirl Margarita is made with premium blue agave tequila and meets the highest quality standards. We will defend our case vigorously, and we are fully confident we will prevail.”

Since Frankel is no longer the owner of the product, she herself will not be sued, but she still felt the need to defend her drink earlier this year when other claims against its naturalness were made, “[E]veryone loves to try to tear down a success. This is a non-event.”

According to PageSix, Kerr confused the staff of the shop when she showed up last week, baby Flynn in tow, to buy some underwear.

You’d think she’d be chocked full of free product after walking in the  Victoria’s Secret fashion show  last week.  I guess they didn’t let her leave with that diamond encrusted bra.

Sales staff at the Flatiron store scratched their heads when Kerr came in, looking back and forth between the beautiful customer and the pouty-lipped seductress lining the walls of the store.  It took a brave customer to confirm for everyone that it was, in fact, the Angel.

No word on what she bought, but whatever it is Orlando Bloom is one lucky man.

Anne Hathaway was in full-on Occupy mode on Thursday, when she joined the Occupy Wall Street crew in Union Square yesterday.

One eagle-eyed New Yorker spotted Hathaway in shades and a raincoat among the protesting masses and  Tweeted  a photo of Hathaway holding up a sign, saying  ”Anne Hathaway supports students! Love! Blackboards Not Bullets!”

Hmm, the incognito outfit was pretty much voided by the giant sign with your name on it Anne, but hey it’s nice that you’re exercise your freedom of assembly.

Thursday marked the “Day of Action.”  Protesters expanded their reach from Zuccotti Park, and demonstrations on the subways, on the Brooklyn Bridge, and in Union Square.   Over 240 people were arrested, five were charged with felony assault, and seven officers and 10 protesters were injured in Thursday’s protests.  None on the injuries appear to be the doings of Catwoman.

Hollywood hath no fury like a celebrity scorned.

Nick Cannon left Mariah and dembabies in  New York, while he attended the Google Music Launch party in Los Angeles  on Wednesday.  Come Thursday morning Nick was probably missing the walkable streets of NYC.  Cannon took to Twitter to complain about being racially profiled by police, an occurence that Nick says he has all the time in Los Angeles.

Apparently one Tweet wasn’t enough to get the incident out of his system, Cannon kept Tweeting about his lifelong dislike of police.

The LAPD used Twitter to advantages last July when it asked celebrities to Tweet their followers, requesting people to  avoid the 405 Freeway during a scheduled maintenance period affectionately referred to as “Carmageddon.”   While Carmegeddon turned out alright, they may have to start their own Twitter account now to do some damage control.

Nick come on back to New York, it’s harder to pull people over on the subway.
