Did you know that there would need to be over 2,000 volunteer blood donations each day to meet the transfusion needs of patients in Tri-State area hospitals? With shortages across New York and New Jersey, there’s ample opportunity for residents to donate to the cause. Below are just some of the blood drives happening in our area this summer. • Good blood

Myself and many people I know are unable to give blood because of a computer error in the 1990s. We gave blood and something turned up (incorrectly) unusable. Now, the NY Blood center refuses to allow retesting for these people. 1,000s of people are affected by this error, and would gladly give, but are told no because the blood center is too lazy to fix this.
I hope somebody reads this who can make a difference in getting the blood center to retest people.

Schmellma, real funny. All kidding aside, please if you can donate. Blood is in short supply. If you have ever been on the receiving end (which I have) it is much appreciated. My kids have a mother today because of the generosity of 100 donors. The only thing I could say is thank you to everyone and please keep donating.
