JDRF Walk New York

uvenile Diabetes Research Fund JRDF

CBS2 and WLNY 10/55 again proudly serve as media sponsors of the JDRF New York Chapter's Walks to Cure Diabetes.

Each year, JDRF Walks in New York City bring together more than 15,000 walkers representing local businesses, families, schools, and other organizations to change the future of type 1 diabetes (T1D). Many of these people have T1D themselves, and many more are friends, family, or coworkers of someone challenged by this disease. But no matter what their connection is, they walk because they believe in a world where T1D no longer exists. Please join CBS/WLNY and support JDRF by joining a Walk near you. Click on the links below to register for one of the races below or here to learn donate or to find more races.

JDRF Walks are a fun, happy, healthy, and effective way to show your support for all those living with T1D and to raise funds for JDRF—the leading global organization focused on T1D research. JDRF Walks have raised $1 billion for research that brings us closer to a world without T1D.

T1D is an autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas loses the ability to produce insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy. It strikes both children and adults suddenly and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle. It requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on injected insulin.

JDRF exists for the millions of children, adults, and families challenged by T1D every single day. Their determination to overcome this disease strengthens ours to end it.

Together, we can walk to the finish and turn Type One into Type None.

Join CBS 2 and support JDRF by joining a walk in your area! Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walks begin at 10 a.m.  For more information, click on this link: WALK TO CURE DIABETES.
