New York City faces an important decision this year. For the first time in 12 years, we’ll elect a new mayor. CBS 2 News, WCBS Radio 880, 1010 WINS, El Diario La Prensa, CUNY and Common Cause NY have joined together to bring you a series of candidate debates. All debates happen at 7 p.m. on WCBS-TV, or you can watch them in Spanish on WLNY-TV 55.
To learn more about the issues and questions for the candidates that matter the most to you, we’ve held a series of town meetings. We wanted to find out what you would ask the candidates. Meetings were held in Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. We heard plenty of questions about education, housing affordability. transportation issues and more. We’re looking forward to putting some of your questions directly to those who would be our elected officials.
Be sure to join us for our debates.
We’re looking forward to hosting the Democratic candidates for comptroller on August 22.
We’ll host the Republican candidates for mayor on August 28.
In the event of a runoff among Democratic mayoral candidates, we will host a debate on September 23.
We’ll host a debate between the republican and democratic candidates for mayor on October 22 ahead of the general election.
And we will host a debate between the candidates for comptroller on October 24.
Thanks for making CBS 2 News, WCBS Radio 880, 1010 WINS and El Diario La Prensa your source for information about the candidates.
