Josh Lewin

Josh Lewin is currently serving as a play-by-play announcer for the New York Mets Radio Network. He has also been the radio play-by-play voice of the San Diego Chargers since 2005. Josh was the television play-by-play announcer for the MLB Texas Rangers (2002-2010) and Detroit Tigers (1998-2001). Since 1996, Josh has broadcast Saturday MLB baseball for the FOX TV network as well as working occasional assignents on divisional playoffs, championship series, NFL and NHL games. Other MLB experience includes Chicago Cubs games on WGN-TV in 1997 and Baltimore Orioles games on radio from 1995-96. Josh’s other NFL experience includes play-by-play on SportsUSA Radio Network.

In addition, he has broadcast Conference USA Football, CCHA Hockey, as well as college basketball at Michigan State and SMU. Josh began his play-by-play career at the age of 16 with the triple-A Rochester Red Wings, then the Baltimore Orioles’ top farm team. In 1994, he became the sports director at the Orioles’ flagship radio station, WBAL. Josh was raised in Rochester, NY and graduated from Northwestern University in 1990. He has written three baseball books and was a featured baseball columnist for The Sporting News, 1999-2002. Josh spends his off-seasons in Dallas, TX as a talk show host for KRLD-FM “The Fan” and dabbling in the local music scene, playing lounge piano, and in a popular local cover band, “Independent George.” He has a daughter, Kelsey, and a son, Coby.
